Small Group Bible Studies

When: Each weekday at differing times

Where: Various locations

What to Expect: Small groups are Bible studies that meet several times throughout the week so it’s usually easy to find one that suits your timetable. They are central to the life of the CU as we meet to study the Bible and be challenged together by God’s word. We’d really encourage everyone to get involved in Small Groups if you can. See our website, for more info or connect with a small group leader at one of our weekly evening meetings.

Prayer Meeting

When: Weekly

Where: Room 636 (On the top floor of the SU Building, above the shop.)

What to Expect: The prayer meeting gives us an opportunity to meet together and pray collectively as a body of believers on campus. We pray for each other, our friends and family, the college, the city and for the wider world. Prayer is so essential for all we do both individually and as a CU, so if you can, please come along to the prayer meeting and join us.

The Globe Café

When: Fortnightly

Where: The Global Room in the Hamilton Building

What to Expect: Globe Café is for both international and Irish students to meet and get to know each other. We meet fortnightly for socials that usually involve tea and biscuits but it is also a great place to develop friendships and ask questions about faith. This semester we will be exploring who Jesus is by using the Uncover John resource. Other events are also organised throughout the term. If you want to know more or get involved in any way please join the Globe Café Facebook group.

“Trinity CU has meant a lot to me during my college life. Being in the CU has showed me the importance of community within the Christian walk of life. More importantly, the CU has allowed me to grow immensely in my relationship with God. I have learned that Jesus is first above all. If I could summarise what the CU has meant to me in three words: faith, hope and love.”

Queen’s University Belfast (QUB)

Main Meeting

When: Every Monday Night at 7.30pm

Where: Students Union Snack Bar

What to Expect: If you’ve experienced Monday night Queens CU before then this year might be a little different. The aim of this year’s CU is to be more evangelistic and open to people of faith and none. With many guest and distinguished speakers, we celebrate what it means to be Christian in the modern age, and learn too of other faiths and traditions. Some weeks there will be talks that will help us learn more about what the bible teaches us, other nights will be called Engage nights and are more informal and will hopefully encourage the freeflow of questions and discussion. We are also going to have some BIG one off nights during the year… like our page on Facebook for more. Through lifestyle to common principles, beliefs to common courtesy, we appreciate all that unites us amidst the many ways we are unique and different. Drawing on biblical text and contrasting it to an ever divided and complex world, we study, praise and thank God for all that we have been given in life. In practical ways, CU poses the challenge of helping those in need, and not ignoring the social ills of our respective communities. By proactively responding to God’s love through devotion to Christ and one another, we feel empowered to help the weak, live in His likeness, and set a good example Christian Union is, by doctrine and belief, a non–discriminatory organisation that encourages all to attend and become involved. To those who have dismissed or perhaps questioned their faith, CU will never close its doors, nor turn its back – You are most welcome.
