Region: North West

Position: Relay Worker

Why Grace loves working with CUI:

“CUI is a real family. I love the collaboration between the different regions and also how we work with others across IFES Worldwide. University is an amazing time to develop your relationship with God and I love being able to be there and to walk with students as they explore.”

Personal CU / Student highlight:

“I studied in Liverpool and the CU was a real home away from home for me. I met such dear friends and we have walked together through student life. It was also a real opportunity for me to stand as a Christian, telling friends and course mates about my faith and seeing how that impacted them. I guess a real highlight is when one of my friends came along to the carol service and became a Christian, it was epic!”

Daniel Clarke

Daniel Clarke

Region: Ulster University Jordanstown

Position: Relay Worker

Why Daniel loves working with CUI:

“I love working with students because the student years are hugely exciting and important years in personal development and self discovery. To be a small part of the students lives and get to share Jesus with them, open the bible and pray with them is a privilege. They are so passionate and determined to evangelise on their campus and it excites me to have the opportunity through CUI to be a part of that.”

Personal CU / Student Highlight :

“Before I started I was worried about working with international students. Mainly because I had little interaction with international students before and because of the language barrier. I started attending the International Cafe to spend time with these exchange students from different background, countries, and cultures. It has been a lot of fun and so fascinating! With an interest and background in sports, I love how sport transcends culture and language barriers. Because of this, I have had some fantastic debates and laughs with other students. Especially when Northern Ireland played Germany in football. The German students and I spend a whole evening laughing and building relationship through our common passion.”

Personal CU / Student Highlight:

“Having the opportunity to see the CU movement in Croatia grow in 3 days of mission and outreach with 6 leaders, to events with 60 people.”

Peter McCollum

Peter McCollum

Region: Munster – Cork – UCC & CIT

Position: Relay Worker

Why Peter loves working with CUI:
“I love working with CUI and students in universities, as I have seen first–hand by being the student how supportive CUI is to CUs and remember how grateful I was for the help and support of my Relay worker back when I was on committee. I love the student vibe and how the CUs are like a massive family but also a mission team on campus! I loved being involved and part of the team as a student and now I love being part of the team as a Relay Worker seeing Students united in God’s grace, serving Him through everything CU has to offer!”

Personal CU / Student Highlight:
“My highlight would be building friendships with International Students through the I–Café outreach, I was fortunate to serve on my CU committee for one year as the International Coordinator. Through my 4 years at Jordanstown I made my own International friends, some were already Christians and got involved with the CU which was amazing to be untied together and be able to serve God on campus together. I also made friends with non– Christian internationals and was able to share the gospel and my faith in the close friendship that was built. One of my favourite memories and most encouraging story was that in my first year at uni, a Chinese student who came along to the I–Café heard the gospel being shared with her over the year and the next summer she committed her life to her Saviour– Christ!”
