My name is Cherie and I’m a 2nd year medical students at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin (RCSI). I’m from Ghana and I’ve been serving as Co–President on the CU Committee together with Jesiah.
I was really looking forward to Equip Leaders this year, considering I didn’t get to be a part of it last year. The weekend was so encouraging, and I logged out of Zoom feeling blessed and motivated to serve on the CU committee. The weekend strengthened and renewed my faith, giving me a fresh vision of what God can do through the CU in the coming year.
My biggest takeaway from the weekend is being reminded that as Christian leaders, personal growth is so important. We need to grow in the knowledge of God, in pleasing God, in dependence and in thankfulness. Sometimes we lose sight of this and forget that there’s so much more in Christ!
With Covid and the consequences surrounding that, I was a bit hesitant to serve on the committee again this year; letting my inadequacies get the best of me. But I was reminded at Equip Leaders that it’s not about trying harder but rather it is about resting deeper in God. We must depend on His strength, power and might.
My prayer is for God to work through us to reach many students on the RCSI campus through CU. We want to hand over next year knowing we gave our all for the work of God!
