What’s happening at Equip 2019?

Calling all students! Equip 2019 is CUI’s annual student festival, set in the grounds of a beautiful castle, for all CU students across our island. Five days to fuel and fire us for a year of CU mission.

This summer, let’s gather from campuses around the whole island. Together, let’s be fuelled to grow in our love for Jesus, our understanding and worship of Him. Let’s ask the Spirit to set a fire in our hearts as we launch back into a new year of mission on campus.

What to expect at Equip 2019:

  • Morning sessions with bible teaching from Glen Scrivener, helping us drink deeply from God’s Word, pastorally applied to our hearts. Worship led by our house band.
  • Creative prayer sessions at the start of each day, expressing our dependency upon the Lord.
  • Mealtimes enabling CUs to bond, individuals to connect and ideas to be shared, whether you’re round the campfire, having a regional BBQ or eating in the castle.
  • Free time to play sport with Christians in Sport, express your creativity with our artist–in–residence, grab a quality coffee in our Castle Café, try the giant maze or Adventure Centre activities, or simply walk through the beautiful grounds!
  • Workshops to equip us practically to reach out more effectively on campus, including subject–specific ones to help us engage our faith as we study.
  • Evening sessions with worship led by Chapel Band, New Irish Arts and last year’s CU Annual Conference Band, and top notch speakers from across the world who will help us see how Jesus is good news for us, our campuses, our culture and the world!

NEW for this year:

  • Mission equipping tracks: a festival gives us time and space to really consider how different aspects of God’s character shape life on campus. Choose from five tracks and have your heart warmed by deep, interactive sessions.
  • Afterhours with Irish Christians who are engaging in all parts of creation and using them in mission. We’ll have a ceilidh, silent disco, films, bonfire, chillout area, late–night café and open–mic night. On some evenings, our guest bands will stay on with our prayer team for those who want to keep responding to God with them.
  • A resource tent with partner mission agencies, connecting us to the best resources in world mission.

“Annual Conference was the highlight of my time in CU – meeting people from all round the country and worshipping together.  I’ll never forget what I learnt there.”
