Please pray for the IFES Student Leadership Formation happening (July 31- August 9). Heledd will be speaking on the book of Judges, Olivia is on the planning team, and two of our students from Belfast and Dublin are attending as participants. Pray that we would be a blessing to our European brothers and sisters and that God would shape all of us to be more like Jesus as we spend time together being equipped to be leaders in God’s work in universities across Europe.
Pray for the Young Adults events at New Horizon. Pray that the team from CUI, who are leading them, would connect well with those who come, and ask that the sessions would be helpful to the young adults as they think about what it means to live with Christ as Lord in every part of life.
Pray for staff to be refreshed, as many will be on holiday over the summer. Pray that they’ll be renewed as they prepare for students in the next term.n

Pray for our Formation Worker, Sandra, as she considers what to do in September. She has applied for a paid internship at her college in SETU Wexford, but is also considering other options. She will be attending summer camps in July and August and needs extra funds to pay for them, especially for flights to Poland in August to help at a teen camp and spend time with family. Please pray that she can be a light around unbelieving family members. Please also pray for the CUs in Waterford and Wexford, as many current students from both will be gone next year. Please pray for Adam from the Wexford CU, who gave his life to Christ this past year!
Pray for our Formation Worker Laura as she transitions back to life in Leitrim after living in Dundalk for college and Limerick during Formation. Pray that she would be able to bless the local church and community as she grows deeper in her relationship with God and others. Pray for clarity in decision-making and peace in change.
Our Formation Worker Zion will finish ministry training and will be looking to see where God brings her. Please pray that God would make a way for her that glorifies Him. Pray that she would get into the Master’s course she has applied for, and that she would be content with whatever God uses her for.
-
Pray for Nathan, Elin, Tom and Stacey as they take part in Kinfire this week. Pray that they would be an encouragement to those they serve.
Pray for the World Assembly team as they begin working together full-time (Helen & Kim) and prepare for additional staff (Catrin & Maureen) joining the team throughout the month. Pray for unity, grace, and fun as we work together to serve CUI and IFES faithfully.
Please join us in giving thanks for Martin Agnew, who has faithfully served as Chair of the CUI Board of Trustees for the past few years. As he steps down, we’re deeply grateful for his dedicated leadership and the many ways he has served CUI. Pray for Julie Hamilton as she steps into the role of the new Chair.
-
Pray for all those currently undergoing New Staff Training this week as they prepare to step into their roles. Ask that God would grant them clarity of mind and eagerness to learn. Pray that the training would not only equip them practically but also help them understand the ministry’s vision and heart. Pray for those leading the training, too, and for the material to be useful and edifying.
Pray for our incoming Formation Workers as they prepare to join us this week! Pray that they arrive feeling welcomed, valued and ready to invest in the lives of those they will serve this year. Pray that their time among us would be formative not only for others, but for themselves, shaping them into the people God has called them to be!
Pray for the upcoming All-Ireland Team Days, as CUI staff, students, and their families gather together. Ask God to bring refreshment, deeper fellowship, and a renewed shared vision for the mission and pray especially that the time together as a wider family would be a real joy and encouragement to all who come.
-
Pray for Freshers students at Queen’s and Ulster Belfast CUs as they have their pre-term residential weekends. Pray that the Freshers would feel welcomed as part of the CU, that they would build good friendships and that they would benefit from the teaching to be rooted in Christ as they start university.
Pray for the QUB and UUB CUs hosting events to welcome international students in September. We praise God for the favour with universities for advertising, the partnership with local churches, and the openness and opportunities to connect with students from around the world. Pray for a loving witness and that internationals will respond to the invitation to events.
Pray for the launch of applications for CUI’s Student Volunteer Programme, which gives students a chance to welcome the nations to the World Assembly. Pray that God would spark the hearts of many students to apply and that God would use their gifts and energy to encourage the nations when they arrive in June. Pray that the experience would deepen their own faith too.

EQUIP is CUI’s flagship five-day gathering at Castlewellan, bringing together students from CUs all across Ireland to be fired up and fuelled for a year of campus mission! Pray for smooth logistics, gifted teaching, and a real sense of unity as students come together to fix their eyes on Christ before heading back to their campuses.
Prayer Point 2: The Way of Jesus was officially launched last week at EQUIP! Pray that students would have the courage to initiate conversations with friends, inviting them to read the Gospel of Luke with them and that through these conversations, many people may come to know Jesus.
Prayer Point 1: Pray for students in Cork as they return to university for the year; pray for them to get involved in welcome events early on and as they plan for Freshers events next week. We hope to connect well with the new students and to help them settle well into this new phase, while giving them a place to explore the kingdom of God.
Praying For The Nations
To prepare our hearts to host World Assembly, join us in praying for IFES movements across the world.
We’ll focus on a particular IFES region each month, so check back for updates!

Who We Are
Ichtus is the Flemish-speaking Christian student movement in Belgium serving university students across the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium, alongside JIB in the French-speaking south. We believe students are leaders, so we give them the freedom, tools, and support to shape their own communities. Small group Bible study is at the heart of our work, creating space for students to ask hard questions, grow in faith, and care for one another.
Key ministries and activities
Small group Bible studies led by student leaders
Evangelism, outreach training, and activities
Conferences and training events for student leaders
Bible study material development for local groups
Community and pastoral support for students, including international students
Physical spaces in cities such as Antwerp and Ghent, where students can gather, study, and belong.
Our Team
Ichtus is supported by a small but dedicated team of staff workers serving across seven student groups in cities throughout Flanders. Most staff work part-time, balancing local student ministry with broader movement responsibilities.
Prayer Requests
Pray for boldness for staff and students to take risks and engage with those around them.
Pray for God to raise more student leaders willing to commit to leading their communities.
Pray for strong partnerships with local churches that support students and provide a spiritual home for graduates.
Pray for the UL CU committee members as they meet (11-12th July) to plan the next academic year of CU. Pray for ideas, wisdom and guidance from God in their planning.
Pray for students as they are finishing up for the summer. Some of them are travelling back home across the world. Pray that they encounter Jesus more and more through prayer and His Word, and that God would give them more stories to share about who he is when they come back to college again!

Since 1928, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Canada has been meeting young people where they are in their high schools and universities while also inviting them to come away and experience God in the context of creation and community at summer camp. Our mission is to inspire and equip emerging generations to encounter Jesus, cultivate Christ-centred lives, and radiate the transforming love of God in Canada and beyond.
The majority of Canada’s 3.5 million youth have never experienced the love and truth of the gospel. We long to see this change! We’re committed to introducing children and teens to Jesus, then walking with them through major transitions until they are young adults. Getting help through the transitions helps them develop a stronger faith.
Canada is the second-largest country in the world (in size), and our ministry stretches from coast to coast, covering every province, but we’re not yet present in our three northern territories.
Our High school ministry (InterSchool Christian Fellowship) empowers 14- to 18-year-olds to be missionaries in their schools, brave, compassionate, and grounded in truth.
At the university, committed, energetic students lead student groups on 62 campuses, with Scripture study camps as a hallmark of our programs.
We own and operate 9 residential camps across Canada. 9,000 summer campers hear about Jesus for the first time, and a further 40,000 through school-year programs. These camps also equip 1,200 young leaders annually, raising the next generation of faithful influence and Kingdom impact.
Our newest ministry, Launch, encourages young adults in their first two years post-graduation as they transition from study, helping them integrate faith and work, and follow their calling.
Join us in prayer for revival in Canada! Pray for growing disciples with undivided hearts anchored in God’s love, aligned with His purpose. Pray for our staff to be fruitful, joy-filled, and innovative as they serve. And pray for God’s faithful provision as we continue this kingdom work together.
InterVarsity is honoured to be a founding member of IFES and excited to see God’s love transform the whole Earth!
