Bringing The Nations Together
Picture 1,000 people from more than 160 countries and territories coming together in Dublin to worship and study God’s Word. In 2027, this will happen when the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) family gathers for the IFES World Assembly at Dublin City University.
Every four years, IFES brings together staff, students, and Board members from around the world for the World Assembly. World Assembly is a chance for CU movements across the world to share ministry experiences, build fellowship and partnerships, and seek God’s guidance. It’s also a time to inspire and renew people and groups to keep this work going for future generations. Fittingly, the 2027 theme is ‘Faithful through Generations: Students, Saints & Stories’.
CUI is part of the IFES family, and it’s our incredible privilege as CUI to host this special event in Ireland! Hosting the World Assembly is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and CUI is honoured and excited to take part! Hosting World Assembly provides us with the opportunity to bless Irish students, bless the Irish church, and bless the nations!
Who can attend WA27?
World Assembly is exclusive to IFES delegates and invited guests, our own Local Host Committee, and student volunteers. Arrangements are being considered to ‘attend’ online one evening. Limited ways to engage onsite will be shared in due course.
How can I get involved with WA27?

Imagine being a student worker in a country where gathering with believers is kept secret, hiding your Bible in textbooks and mouthing hymns out of fear of persecution. Now, picture the joy and relief when that student can worship freely, read the Bible openly, and pray aloud with fellow Christians. For many attending the World Assembly, that’s exactly their experience! It’s a wonderful privilege for CUI to help unite believers around the world in this way.
We’re thrilled that, thanks to the generosity of individuals, churches, trusts, and match-funding, we’ve raised over half of our fundraising goal so far, which covers most of our staff costs. We thank God for His ongoing provision and for blessing the World Assembly!
However, to host the IFES World Assembly in 2027, we still need to raise approximately £100,000/€115,000. This will help fund our Student Volunteer Programme, which equips and empowers students to serve and welcome the nations.
The cost for a student volunteer to attend World Assembly is £550/€600. Would youconsider sponsoring one of our own students from a CU in Ireland to volunteer?

Partnership is key to making World Assembly 2027 happen. Ireland has a special chance to serve the global community by hosting this event. Known as a land of “saints and scholars,” Ireland's rich history of faith, learning, and hospitality invites the world to join us.
WA27 is an opportunity to extend that legacy, welcoming others and working together on a shared mission beyond our borders. But CUI can’t do this alone! We want to invite Christians across the island to pray for our students and us. We’d love to share the joy of hosting and hear stories of what God is doing.
You can be part of this by praying for the planning teams, student volunteers, and attendees.

We also welcome opportunities to visit churches and communities to share more about this vision. Email worldassembly@cui.ie to arrange a visit.

CUI’s vision in hosting World Assembly is to also bless Irish students by providing the Irish Volunteer Discipleship Programme, an eight-month programme where students can study and learn in community how to bless the nations through cross-cultural mission! Click here to find out more and how to apply.
What happens at World Assembly?
The eight-day program starts with a pre-conference gathering for students, followed by seminars, plenary sessions, and small-group sessions where delegates from different regions can share stories of what God is doing in their countries and pray for one another.
The schedule includes uniting to learn from God’s word, times for worship, and a host-country day to allow CUI to highlight the Irish culture and student ministry! Delegates can also take part in excursions to local tourist spots, visit the IFES Expo mission exhibition, browse the bookstore, spend time in contemplative arts spaces, and meet with others from their region.
The program also features formal IFES governance meetings, which take place every four years at WA as required by the constitution. These meetings are conducted in the three official IFES languages: English, French, and Spanish, with simultaneous translation available.
